Artful Arrangements

More Is Merrier
Don't be afraid to fill your whole space or to mix different prints. Just use similar frames to bring unity—as with this grouping from West Elm. They'll create a look that is wonderfully eclectic, like you've gathered a collection over many years. This kind of "random" hanging style works particularly well in hallways or on large walls.

Hanging tips:
  • For large empty walls, a group of several pieces can be more eye-catching than one large piece.
  • Groupings work best when there is a common link that ties all of the artwork together. The link can be a similar style of frame, the same color mat, or imagery of a similar style or subject.
  • Group artwork close together to fully decorate a wall and create a cohesive visual statement.
  • Find new ways to decorate your walls by grouping artwork in unconventional wall spaces, such as underneath a staircase, around a doorway, or in a narrow space.
