Is there a way to use NSAIDs (anti-inflammatory) safely without causing liver failure in pets? --iVillager 12paws2000

Dr. Messonnier says: Carprofen is the only NSAID I know that has had reports of liver toxicity. As I state in The Natural Health Bible for Dogs & Cats, NSAIDs can be used safely in pets but unfortunately are not usually used correctly.

They are best used short-term for pain and inflammation control, rather than long-term for conditions like arthritis (better choices are glucosamine and chondroitin).

Everyone using an NSAID in a pet please read my discussion in The Natural Health Bible for Dogs & Cats first -- it could save your pet's life.

Good Luck!
