Nursery for a Princess
From early times, the royal treatment for the princess of the realm was a breezy swag swooped from the ceiling to puddled folds on the floor. To create a room for your princess, light organza, netting or lace can be festooned with ribbons tied to wall knobs and cornice hooks. The eye is carried upward in this room with high tiebacks on curtains and little baby-sized items that have interesting details on wall-mounted shelves. Court nurseries had symbolic design elements such as ceiling cornices, ruffles on high rods and outrageously tall toys because they predicted the baby would grow up to be especially accomplished.
