Between the fireplace and the front door we put a full-size sofa, which still left enough room for a sofa table. Once merchandised, this would also act as a foyer area so that guests coming in the front door wouldn't just land in the room. And it created a new surface to which an occasional chair could be drawn up. Most important, this area was now ideal for task lighting.
