Use a medium to low microwave setting: Flowers dry too quickly if set on high, and become brittle. Microwave ovens get hotter the more they are used. If you are drying several batches of flowers, later batches will take less time to dry. Watch carefully and adjust your timing.

Lay 3 to 4 paper towels on a work surface or on the removable turntable of a microwave (if drying particularly succulent flowers, use a few more towels). Top with a sheet of blotting paper.![]()
