A well-designed bathroom should be a haven where one can escape and find peace. This bathroom had potential for style with a bit of revamping and moving, but the owner, Melanie, didn't want anything too radical. The result was a unique, old-style bathroom that was still young at heart.

BEFORE
ProjectThis pine-clad bathroom with acrylic corner tub was definitely in need of some glamour. Bathrooms should be the most self-indulgent rooms of the house. A makeover was needed to create warmth, style and luxury.

AFTER
Project Traditional style is mixed with youthful color to give this bathroom a truly modern twist. The rolltop cast iron tub and antique French chair were both found in flea markets and restored with tender loving care. The classic black and white flooring was laid diagonally giving the room a sense of depth.

BEFORE
Project The stark clinical tiles made this bathroom feel cold and practical. Despite having a corner tub the bathroom had no real focal point. The wall heater was efficient but aesthetically very unappealing.

AFTER
Project After an extremely lucky find on a scrap heap, this antique sink vanity was restored creating an impressive focal point. A local artist made the stained glass panels. This added lots of character to the room. They are well worth the expense if your budget can stretch to it.
