Do you have a streak of neat freak in you? You're not alone. We asked iVillagers: What are some of the things you have to clean that other people might not even think twice about? The responses we got may send you scurrying for your sponge!
I have to clean the baseboards. I can't stand for them to collect dust or dirt, so I regularly scrub and brush them.
I wipe the tops (the part that you don't see) of all the doors in my home twice a week.
My bed has to be made every day. Even if it's a half hour before going to bed, I have to get into a made bed at night.
Here's my deep, dark secret: Not only do I fold my underwear (in thirds and then in half), but I also stack it in the drawer according to type (grannies, hipsters, etc.) and color/print (white vs. solid, color vs. print). I do the same thing with my bras, and with my husband's underwear too. Each pair is folded in a precise manner to obtain a square-shaped result that neatly and easily stacks in the drawer without wasting any space.
Lately I'm freaking out about my computer keyboards at home and at work. Not just spraying them with Lysol to remove germs since it's cold season, but actually getting out the dust, crumbs and other stuff that finds its way in between the keys. Have you ever looked down in there? Ick.
Chrome, whether on a faucet, a handle, the trim on the stove front... If it's chrome, I'm polishing it, and it doesn't matter if there's spaghetti sauce splattered on the stove or toothpaste gunk in the sink basin — the chrome will be sparkling.
I'm the lady that comes into your house and straightens the pictures on the wall. I can't stand seeing things on the wall that aren't straight. I'll get up and say, "Don't mind me, I just have to do this..."
The fridge handle! I can't stand seeing finger marks on the fridge handle!
Tissue boxes: When the tissues stick out of the box, I have to get up and tuck them back in. Whenever I visit my mom, she makes sure all of her tissues are sticking out. In fact, I'm convinced she buys extra boxes, just to mess with me.
Shoes at the door — this drives me crazy! The kids and their friends will come in and throw their shoes in a pile, and I just can't leave them like that. I have to have them all straight and in a row.
